Nomura Institute of Capital Markets Research
to establish Singapore office

Singapore, April 1, 2015-Nomura Institute of Capital Markets Research (NICMR) (President: Toshihiro Iwasaki) today announced that it will establish a research division in Singapore.

The new division will support the business activities of the Nomura Group in Asia through the assimilation and timely release of information about financial and capital market systems and developments in ASEAN and other Asian countries. The new division will also take advantage of its convenient geographical location to conduct research and analysis on the financial and capital markets of India and countries in the Middle East (Islamic finance), important markets for the Nomura Group.

To solidify the Nomura Group's position as an Asian-based global financial services group, it is increasingly important for the Group to enhance its competitive strengths based on in-depth research and analysis of Asian nations' financial and capital markets, the related systems, and ongoing developments. NICMR's Beijing representative office, established in October 2010, has made significant contributions to the Nomura Group's business in China through its collection and dissemination of information about the local markets and systems. Seeking to make greater contributions to the Nomura Group's business in Asia, NICMR plans to strengthen and expand its Asian research platform going forward.
